We love getting away from it all and exploring somewhere new as much as anything, which is why we’ve taken the time to explore Delta, BC and everything it has to offer. Along the way we stumbled across some stunning sights, sought out some great places to eat and shop and found plenty of friendly locals wherever we went. To help you pick where you want to visit or base yourself, we’ve put our thoughts and opinions down on paper so you can take a look through what we found at your own pace. Tsawwassen
Tsawwassen offers quite a dry and sunny climate in comparison to the rest of the local area, making it a place that’s popular with sun seekers who want to get away from it all and enjoy a slower pace of life. Add in the fact that you’re going to get a lot less rain than downtown Vancouver and you start to see what we mean.
You’ll be assured of a warm welcome and friendly neighbors no matter where you base yourself, allowing you to pitch up and enjoy the ride. You can also get to other places in Delta with the minimum of effort which gives you plenty of options when you want to get out and about, seeing the sights and scenes. Perfect when you want to make a day of it and still have plenty to see and do for the rest of the week.
Sunshine Woods in Delta
Sunshine Woods is a Golf Center that offers a beautiful Par 3 course that’s sure to extend a warm welcome to anyone who wants to pitch up and tee off. The incredible setting it has to offer is only matched by the sense of community in the clubhouse and the friendly attitude of the regulars. If you want to get in on the act, you can book times to tee off round the clock, giving you plenty of options if you want to tie your visit in with some of the other entries on this list. All you have to do then is dust off your clubs and do yourself justice on the back nine.
English Bluff
English Bluff is a steep cliff and rise that’s sure to give you plenty of stunning photo opportunities. You’ll find people who have made a home for themselves sprinkled around the area, giving the place a sense of community that’s hard to match anywhere in Delta. You can also find plenty of road links to the rest of the local area which makes English Bluff a nice place to start your exploration of the local area.

Boundary Bay is a charming bay that combines plenty of recreational activities and eateries with natural wildlife that’s sure to catch your eye from every angle. Put all these things together and you get a sense of why this is one area that the locals will always recommend you pay a visit to.

The George Mackie Library and Nordel Shopping Center are just two of the reasons Nordel is known as the main social and entertainment location in Delta. The eclectic nature of the area gives it a bustling charm that’s sure to appeal to those who want to see something different round every corner. If you add in the fact that there’s no shortage of public events and live music, you’ll soon see why Nordel comes highly recommended by everyone in the local area.
We fell in love with it years ago, which tells you everything you need to know about the endearing way in which Nordel continues to evolve. There’s always something new and exciting going on, which gives you more options than you’ll ever be able to fit into a single weekend. Perfect if you want the only problem you’re going to have being able to make the time to fit everything in!
Ladner
Last but not least we come to one of the oldest areas in Delta — Ladner was founded all the way back in 1879 and offers the historic setting to match. We love the way in which all the mod cons are combined with a sense of tradition and community that can be a little hard to find in the digital age. This all combines to create a setting that’s sure to welcome you with the open arms whether you’re setting up or just passing through. Take your time to explore all the little wonders that are tucked away in Ladner and you’re sure to be glad you did.
