Perfect when you want to make a home for yourself, enjoy a trip to remember, or just make memories by exploring somewhere new. Let’s dive right in.

Westwood Plateau in Coquitlam

This lovely little corner of Coquitlam was formerly home to a thriving motorsport park which made way for a large residential community. Why does this matter? Because it gives you an idea of the sense of community that’s sprung up in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by a stunning natural backdrop that words will simply not do justice. Today the star attraction is the local golf course which regularly hosts tournaments and events for golfers from much further afield. Take a run at the back nine if you’re feeling adventurous and you’re sure to have fun along the way.

Burquitlam in Coquitlam

Here you’ll find a lovely blend of community-focused activities and commercial opportunities that offer a wide variety of types of employment. Many professionals in the local area travel into this commercial hub Monday to Friday, giving the area a real sense of purpose during the week and a sense of calm and tranquillity throughout the weekend. If you want the convenience of being able to work just a quick drive from home, living in Burquitlam is a great option to consider, especially if you want to move into the area and progress your career the smart way.

Burke Mountain

The great thing about living in this delightful little village is you’re only a 10-minute drive from Coquitlam Town Centre, and yet when you get there to relax, you may as well be in the middle of nowhere. What we mean by this is that Burke Mountain will quickly turn into the tranquil little oasis you never want to leave, all while still being close enough to major industry and infrastructure to offer a wide range of employment options and entertainment to enjoy. Ideal when you want to make the most of life by getting the best of both worlds right there on your doorstep.

Maillardville

Another calm and quiet space is waiting to welcome you, whether you’re staying for the foreseeable future or just passing through so you can look around. From the moment you pull up, Maillardville residents are sure to be more than happy to offer you insights into what local life is like, or point you in the direction of whatever it is you’re looking for. As a nice surprise, you’ll also find a rich tradition of French speakers that gives the place a unique culture and feel. You can also see this reflected in some of the live music and events the area hosts throughout the year, not least of all those whose roots can be tied back to the old country. A spot not to be missed by anyone who appreciates a little bit of cultural enrichment when they set out to really get to know a new area or location.

Coquitlam Town Centre

As the name suggests, this is the place to be when you want to be in the thick of the action without having to travel all the way back into the main part of Vancouver. The City Centre is plenty used to hosting a party or celebration, and is also the go-to destination for everyone in the local area when they’re heading out in search of a good time on the weekend.

The locals are friendly, open and welcoming, which allows you to feel right at home as you get to know more of the area in no time at all. This not only allows you to feel like you’re part of the community, it’s also a great way to meet new people and get the chance to experience new things along the way. Exactly what you want to hear when it’s time to introduce yourself, have fun and never look back as you enjoy everything there is to do here.

Eagle Ridge

This 16 mile scenic walking loop is one of the must-do activities no matter where you’re based in Greater Vancouver. You are going to have hours of fun as you circumnavigate Eagle Mountain and walk through large swathes of Indian Arm Provincial Park as you take in sights and scenes that are sure to stay with you for a lifetime. All you have to do now is invite a couple of friends along and get your walking boots and bag ready!

Austin Heights

Austin Heights is one of the more urban areas in Coquitlam and a place that’s undergone a real boom in terms of investment in recent years. The large number of high-rise buildings and luxury apartments makes this a great place to shortlist for young couples and aspiring professionals. You can also enjoy your pick of transportation options thanks to the heavy level of investment that’s supported the connections between Austin Heights and the rest of the local area. Ideal when all you want to do is take your time and pick out the perfect place to base yourself.

Mary Hill in Coquitlam

Last but by no means least, we come to Mary Hill — one of our favourite entries on the whole list. By enjoying life and sampling good times down by the waterfront, you can take a break whenever the mood takes you and get a real sense of contemporary life with the minimum of effort.
